Monday, July 31, 2006The true face of Israel![]() The massacre of Qana, where according to the Gospel, Jesus performed his first miracle by turning water into wine in a wedding feast. Coward Israeli airforce strikes a shelter and kills 55 civilians, 27 of them were children. The Cowards know that they can't take on Hezbollah so they decide to attack shelters. Then the Prime Minister of the Zionists comes up and apologizes for this massacres and asks that Lebanon builds a better shelters for its citizens. God Bless you Lebanon, my heart is with you and inshallah, INSHALLAH, those Zionists will taste the fear and blood of defeat. God bless Lebanon Sunday, July 30, 2006Talking Bullshit!I hate it when people start talking about things that they have no idea about. Especially when it comes to politics. I just came back from a gathering at a cafe with fellow friends to talk about the next script we should work on and who should we target for sponsorship. Then on TV Nassrallah comes on and starts talking, and the entire cafe goes quiet to hear what he have to say. When he finished talking, everybody in the cafe start to give out their conspiracy theories as if they were politicians. That was not it, some would get really angry on others because they don't agree with what he is saying and vice versa. unfortunately my group started doing the same thing. I don't know anything about politics and I don't like to talk about it at all. But it really frustrate me to hear those morons talk about it as if they were the only ones who know what is really going on. And then I read online, fellow bloggers who accuse this and that. Again with more conspiracy theories. Then what? Are you going to solve anything? Some will talk about disarming Hezbollah and death to Israel and others will talk about Syria along side Iran. I lived in war three times and it was not pretty at all. Let those who lived in war talk about their experience, let those who live in Lebanon tell you what they think of Hezbollah. Talking about Shia and Sunnis, they fight alongside each other in Lebanon for an invader has attacked their country, it does not matter why they attacked them, they ARE attacking and that is what they are living right now. Both sides. Even in Israel there are parties that might agree and disagree with the government. But again their kids are suffering. Who are you to talk bullshit? I bet most of you guys live in North America or in Europe, and have no idea how it feels to live under war not knowing if tonight might be your last night on Earth. fucken arrogant people ... Friday, July 28, 2006Sleeping PillsI went to bed last night around 10pm so I could wake up at 5am to go to the studio and finish what I have before my meeting at 10am with the board. I looked at the time and it was midnight and I have yet to fall asleep. I took two sleeping pills and raised the volume of my alarm clock. I opened my eyes and it was 4pm!!! And I had 28 missed calls on my cell phone!! There is no point at all to call anyone back, I missed my session in the studio and the board meeting, I went back to sleep again!!! I just woke up half hour ago, and it is now 10:30pm. I am very awake now!! Maybe I should take more of those pills!! :) Tuesday, July 25, 2006Check List![]() Thursday, July 20, 2006Sending Messages![]() ![]() Little Israeli girls writing messages to the kids of Lebanon on heavy artillery. Saturday, July 15, 2006The Road to Guantanamo![]() The Road To Guantanamo a film which was screened on Channel 4 last night is a harrowing tale of injustice committed by the American Government under the guise of the war on terror. Three innocent men, (actually four to begin with),childhood friends all British, 3 of Pakistani origin and one Bangladeshi ( not Arab as described by IronicFilmReference review) set off to Pakistan for a holiday and to attend the wedding of one of the 4 men. With time on their hands before the wedding, stupidly they decide to go to Afghanistan to help with the relief effort at a time when the US is gearing up for an invasion. When they realise the gravity of the situation in Afghanistan, they try to get back to Pakistan, instead they get taken deeper into the combat zone and there the 4 men from Tipton, became the Tipton 3 as one of their Friends (Monir) gets separated (and is never seen again). Taken into custody by The US forces after surviving near starvation for a month at the hands of the Northern Alliance what should of been the end of their ordeal turns out to be just the beginning. What emerges next through interviews with the men and re-enactment of events is a tale of unbelievable treatment of the three men and incompetence at the hands of the US authorities.Routine humiliation and torture both physical and psychological in Afghanistan before they are sent to Guantanamo Bay, where they some how endure the same regime for a further 2 years. This is an unmissable film/documentary of the above mentioned events which will have you question the freedoms and rights you enjoy so freely and how in this day and age the world is so silent on the injustice and blatant disregard for human rights that is taking place in Guantanamo Bay.Whatever else you do in 2006, watching this film should be at the top of your list. Wednesday, July 12, 2006How old are you?As of now I am: 25 years, 5 months, 20 days, 20 hours, 43 minutes, 7 seconds How old are you now? Find out here. Tuesday, July 11, 2006The Last KingdomName the Kings of England. Well, there's mad old George III, who lost the Revolutionary War. That's one. And Henry VII, everyone remembers him. After that, there's King James, who we recall from his version of the Bible, and the one who gave up his crown to marry the American woman, and the one who got his head chopped off. After them, and maybe Richard III from the Shakespeare play, the collective memory (at least on this side of the Atlantic) goes a bit dim. But only one of those Kings of England who we really don't know or remember was named "the Great," and that was Alfred, who ruled from 871 to 900, back in the days when the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle was on the bestseller list, at least for people who could read. Bernard Cornwell thinks we should know more about Alfred and his times, which is why he has written THE LAST KINGDOM. That should be enough of a recommendation for anyone. Cornwell is the author of the bestselling Richard Sharpe series, which follows the adventures of a hard-charging British soldier during the Peninsular Campaign. Although Sharpe is a great character by himself, one thing he serves to do is to illustrate the greatness of Lord Wellington --- the commander of the British forces in Spain, and Sharpe's own patron. Wellington (at least as portrayed by Cornwell) is far too stiff, aloof and unlikable to ever be the hero of his own tale, and Sharpe ably stands in. The same trick is tried in THE LAST KINGDOM, with a twist. The first-person narrator here is Uhtred, who is the son of a minor lord of Northumbria. As a child, he is captured by a raiding pack of Danes that are "going Viking," or raiding the coast. The young Uhtred becomes the adopted son of a Viking leader and learns a central, universal truth: Vikings are cool. Vikings are cool for the same reasons that Vikings have always been cool. Vikings don't have to brush their teeth (not that anybody did, much, in the ninth century). Vikings get cool swords and stand shoulder to shoulder in the shield wall. Vikings don't have to learn how to read, or say their prayers, or build a stable, efficient society based on the rule of law. Vikings don't have to do any of that, so they arecool. While Uhtred is with the Vikings, learning the way of the warrior from his surrogate parents (and bedding a nubile wench or two along the way), the story meanders along, explaining the Viking way of revenge and the blood feud and the glories of Valhalla. But Uhtred is English and wants nothing more than to reclaim his lost castle and birthright; to do that, he may have to return to his own people. And when treacherous Danish opponents of his foster family launch a surprise attack, he has no choice but to do so. Alfred is different because he, at least for his day and age, was civilized. Uhtred misses few opportunities to sneer at Alfred for his Christianity, his belief in law, and his supposed softness. Uhtred takes off the cross and puts on the hammer of Thor because he finds Thor to be the stronger --- but Thor lives on today only in the pages of Marvel Comics and in the name of Thursday. It was Alfred, and Western Civilization, that were the stronger in the battle, and it is Cornwell's job to show why. THE LAST KINGDOM is the first of a proposed trilogy, which will show how Alfred defeated the Danes and established England as England and not as a Viking protectorate. As such, it is just the beginning of the story, and a long and bloody epic it promises to be. Cornwell is a talented historical novelist, and he's at the top of his game here --- all the more so because the history of the ninth century is much less documented than the nineteenth. The novel provides a lot of insight to our time, of course, with Western Civilization again under threat. And the character of Uhtred, going back and forth between the civilized and uncivilized worlds, is emblematic of the struggle (as well as being a skilled teller of tales and describer of battles). But none of this explains the appeal of THE LAST KINGDOM so much as these three words, which are all you need to know about the book. Vikings are cool. Monday, July 10, 2006Un'Estate Italiana!!Congratulations Italy!! YES!!![]() Saturday, July 01, 2006United 93Yesterday my co-workers kept nagging to me to come to the movies with them, when I asked them what were they going to watch, they said "United 93" the story of the fourth hijacked plane on September 11th, 2001. The one assuming been fought back by the passengers and took the terrorists down but couldn't control the plane and dropped it. After September 11th incidents, I, myself, been through some harassments in airports, streets in Canada and by the police in Toronto. It didn't bother me at all, I know that they are just freaking out with what happened, and from that on I have been very into those conspiracy theories that it was not Arab hijackers that took the world trade centers down but it was the American government themselves. I kept on digging and digging, and now I have enough research material to start a thesis for my graduate program!!! LOL Anyways, I didn't feel like going to such films because I don't want to see a lie. I hate those American patriot films and now they are using 9/11 to make money and disgrace Arabs. After nagging and nagging I accepted and went there with full knowledge that I will hate this film and it would boil my blood from the inside. The film starts, and I knew it. Arabs reading the Quran and praying and telling each other that it is time. I gave out a disgusting laugh knowing that what I was expecting is being revealed. The story continues with the passengers boarding the United Airlines flight 93 to San Francisco. The terrorists are nervous but pulling through, other passengers are normal don't know what is awaiting them in this flight. Then the film switches off to the airport controls and the film switches from Flight 93 to others flights, Flight 175, Flight 11 and the other one I forgot which flight it was. The film was more of a documentary of what happened that day in the airport control when the hijacked planes crash into the world trade center and the pentagon. The most odd scene and the oddest reaction from the audience watching the film (Majority Arabs) when the second plane crashes into the southern tower, the entire theater clapped!!! I mean clapping and cheering!!! I remained silent!!! now After 40 minutes of the film, the director goes back to United 93 and how the terrorists took charge of the plane by killing some of the passengers and taking control of the cockpit and changing routes heading to DC and targeting the nation's capitol. According to the story line, the passengers unite with each other and fought back the terrorists and try to take over the plane and fly it away from the nation's capitol but the terrorist leader (Ziad Al Jarrah) knew that his plans has failed and takes the plane down with everybody on board. We leave the theater with everybody cursing the Americans for showing how barbarian the Arabs are, and my co-workers, having the same feeling like all others await for me to snap at them and tell them how right I was for not coming to this film. But I was not mad, I was excited!! That was one of the best films I saw this year...ok I don't agree with the storyline, but the acting, the frames, the directing....Was just amazing....I honestly was holding my breath during the last 15 minutes of the film for it was fast pacing and very very dramatic!!! They snapped at me when I told them that, although they were the ones who insisted on watching this film. I didn't care less, it was a movie to me after all!! By the way, two of the hijackers of United Airlines 93 are still alive and well!!!! Saeed is an engineer in Saudi Arabia and claims that he has never been into the States in his life but his passport has been stolen while going on vacation to Europe in 1995 Ahmad Alnami is a pilot in Saudi Airlines, currently he is taking a risk course in Morocco, he studied in the States and finished his schooling and went back to Saudi on September 2000, his passport was stolen during his time in the States. The father of Ziad Al Jarrah is sueing the filmmakers for showing to the world how (Falsely) barbarian his son is. He claims that his son is being held somewhere because Ziad called him on September 12th telling him that he might be in trouble and he will have to dissapear!! That means he was not on that plane as well!! If that is all true, who hijacked the plane? ![]() ![]()
